Warehouse Supervisor

Position: Warehouse Supervisor

Overview:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and movement of freight. This role oversees shipping and receiving activities, inventory accuracy, and team performance while maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant work environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and capable of driving operational efficiency while supporting both customer requirements and internal performance goals.


Core Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Oversee loading and unloading of trucks from the warehouse
  • Perform final verification of counts, box dimensions, and reweigh shipments accurately and maintain appropriate records
  • Insure timely and accurate completion of all required shipping and receiving documentation
  • Oversee the labeling of customer goods with identifying information per shippers’ paperwork
  • Organize and maintain the warehouse to ensure all freight is appropriately labeled and placed in designated areas
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of warehouse, dock area, and yard
  • Ensure dock and yard checks are performed to ensure accuracy of inventory and physical location of trailers and equipment
  • Report all injuries, mishaps, damages, and issues to immediate manager
  • Review all warehouse staff hours to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal overtime
  • Create Bill of Ladings and other paperwork necessary for shipping products
  • Manage on-site security guards
  • Load freight into rail, ocean, and over the road containers by hand or using equipment per customer rotating guide
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience in a logistics environment
  • Forklift certified a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lead a successful team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work with all levels of operation
  • Ability to perform basic math functions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
