Weatherization Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Weatherization Technician to join our dynamic team dedicated to improving energy efficiency and safety in residential homes across our service area. In this role, you will perform a variety of weatherization and retrofit tasks, ensuring homes and facilities meet energy conservation standards while maintaining high-quality craftsmanship. Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of buildings to identify weatherization needs, including insulation, air sealing, and window or door upgrades.
  • Install insulation materials, caulking, weatherstripping, and other sealing components to improve energy efficiency.
  • Perform minor repairs and upgrades such as fixture installation, door hanging, or drywall patching to support weatherization projects.
  • Operate power tools, hand tools, heavy equipment, and scaffolding safely and
  • Inspect completed work for quality assurance, ensuring adherence to safety standards and building codes.
  • Collaborate with team members and project managers

Qualifications

  • Willingness to learn new skills and be a positive part of a team
  • Strong work ethic
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and other general maintenance uses
  • Ability to meet either in Wytheville or Marion, depending on where the job is that week
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing project needs.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
