We are seeking a highly skilled Web Developer with strong e-commerce expertise to manage, optimize, and evolve our Magento 2.4+ storefront and supporting infrastructure. This is a critical role within our business, ensuring both day-to-day operations and long-term development initiatives are handled with precision and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, develop, and optimize our Magento 2.4 e-commerce platform, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.
- Oversee frontend and backend development, including theme updates, UI/UX improvements, and custom feature builds.
- Maintain and optimize server infrastructure (Linux, SSH, PHP, MySQL), applying best practices in performance tuning and security protocols.
- Implement and manage Git/Bitbucket workflows, code deployments, and staging/production environments.
- Ensure database efficiency through query optimization, indexing, and load minimization.
- Integrate and manage third-party services (ShopperApproved, SEMrush, Cloudflare, Google analytics tools, Google Tag Manager, etc.).
- Drive SEO optimization through technical improvements (Core Web Vitals, structured data, canonicalization, crawl efficiency).
- Conduct and analyze A/B tests (cart, checkout, and conversion funnels) to improve sales and user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, customer service) to align site development with business goals.
- Proactively monitor site performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure uptime and reliability.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years professional experience in e-commerce web development.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Magento 2.4+, PHP, and MySQL.
- Strong skills in JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design.
- Experience with Mobile first frontend development and best practices
- Proficiency in Linux command line, SSH, and server administration.
- Solid understanding of security protocols for Magento and server Maintenance.
- Experience with Git/Bitbucket, version control workflows, and Jira task management.
- Knowledge of SEO principles and applying them at the code/infrastructure level.
- Familiarity with performance optimization (CDN, caching strategies, Cloudflare, Varnish, DB optimization).
- Track record of managing third-party integrations and e-commerce tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ShopperApproved, GBP, or similar review platforms.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and event tracking.
- Understanding of version controlling workflows and modern deployment practices.
- Knowledge of other e-commerce CMS (Shopify, WooCommerce) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset with attention to detail.
