Welder/Fabricator/Fitter

Job Overview
Must be able to use hand tools. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hollow Metal Doors Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for welding and assembling hollow metal doors, ensuring they meet precise specifications and quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on construction site projects, manufacturing environments, and custom fabrication jobs, contributing to the creation of durable, secure, and functional door systems. Your expertise in various welding techniques and sheet metal fabrication will be essential in delivering top-tier products for our clients.

Duties

• Perform Tack welding
• Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate and assemble doors
• Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape sheet metal and assemble door frames
• Measure materials precisely with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure accurate cuts and welds
• Operate rigging equipment such as cranes and forklifts for material handling and assembly of large door units
• Conduct mechanical tasks including pipe threading, machining, soldering, and assembly of components according to ASME codes & standards
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety regulations on construction sites or manufacturing floors

Requirements

• Proven construction site experience with a focus on metal fabrication or welding projects
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, FCAW welding techniques; experience with <LOCATION> welding preferred
• Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes and the use of hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brakes, and machining equipment
• Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to welding and fabrication processes
• Ability to operate rigging equipment such as cranes or forklifts safely
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and blueprint interpretation
• Mechanical knowledge related to construction materials like ductwork or door hardware components
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow precise specifications for quality assurance
