Welder/Fabricator/Fitter

Equipment manufacturer in the Eugene area is seeking experienced Welder/Fabricators for full time, day shift positions. Rears Manufacturing Company is a manufacturer of agricultural equipment with national distribution through dealerships and direct customer sales. This is a 40 hour/week position: on-site day shift, Monday - Friday.

Rears industrial campus is conveniently located for communities in the Eugene-Springfield area.

Employment opportunities are available immediately: stainless steel MIG & TIG proficiency is beneficial. A successful candidate will have experience with the Job Duties listed below and fulfill the list of Qualifications required for employment consideration.

Job Duties

• Read and interpret technical drawings and work orders to determine job requirements
• Set up and monitor welding, plasma torch and metal finishing equipment to maintain process quality
• Use MIG welding process; TIG experience is desirable
• Plasma torch use
• Use quality control tools to inspect fabricated product at multiple steps to verify job is meeting specifications.
• Operate material handling devices such as overhead crane to position work components
• Receive verbal instruction from team lead
• Collaborate with team members to maintain quality production and adopt new processes
• Lift and manipulate structural steel components, up to 70lb
• Maintain a clean, safe, and productive work space
• Attention to detail and safety for every job: set-up, execution, and quality check

Job Qualifications

• Pre-employment weld test
• Experience: you must have a job history as a welder and fabricator
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, equipment operation and industry safety standards
• Stainless steel MIG and TIG experience is beneficial
• Experience with material handling systems such as overhead crane
• Ability to read technical production prints
• Proficient with measuring tools and able to maintain tolerances
• Job set-up skills and knowledge of metal properties is desirable
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production work environment
• Physically able to lift/carry/manipulate steel structural components; dexterity to stoop, climb, and reach to install fabricated assemblies
• Effective oral and written communication skills

Work Schedule and Compensation

Schedule: 8 hour shifts, M-F. Shift start time 6AM or 8AM. Shift assignment is most often employee choice. Overtime is often needed during the months of February – May.

Starting wage: $25-32 per hour
