Welder/Fabricator/Mechanic

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator/Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for performing precise welding, fabrication, and mechanical tasks across various projects. Your expertise will ensure the quality, safety, and durability of metal components, and machinery. Responsibilities

  • Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately execute projects in accordance with specifications and codes.
  • Perform welding operations using various techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and SMAW, ensuring compliance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes & standards.
  • Measure and mark materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure accurate cuts and assemblies.
  • Fabricate metal components by cutting, shaping, bending (using press brake machines), drilling pipe threads, and assembling ductwork or piping systems following technical drawings.
  • Operate power tools such as grinders, plasma cutters, soldering equipment, and press brake machines safely and efficiently.
  • Use hand tools and machining equipment for metal fabrication tasks while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct routine inspections of completed work for quality assurance; troubleshoot mechanical issues on machinery or fabricated structures; perform basic maintenance as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members on construction sites or in fabrication shops to meet project deadlines while maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures diligently and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.

Experience

  • Understanding of metal fabrication processes.
  • Hands-on experience operating welding equipment including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding techniques.
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical blueprints accurately.
  • Experience working in fabrication shops or on-site construction environments involving sheet metal fabrication and ductwork installation.
  • Knowledge of using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurements.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to machinery maintenance or repair is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to safety protocols in high-risk environments; familiarity with OSHA standards is a plus.

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
