Welding Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly qualified Welding Engineer with significant experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industries. The ideal candidate will possess a post-graduate degree in welding engineering or a bachelor’s degree in material/metallurgical engineering, coupled with IWE/European Welding Engineer (EWE) certification. A minimum of ten years of relevant experience is essential.

Minimum requirements:

• Post-graduate degree in welding engineering or bachelor’s degree in material/metallurgical engineering with IWE/EWE certification.
• Minimum of ten years of experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
• Extensive knowledge of international codes (ANSI/ASME, ASTM, API, BS, EN, MSS, ISO) relevant to the oil and gas sector.
• Only Freelancer will be accepted.
• Must be locally available in Qatar
• A holder of a valid Qatar ID.
• Can join immediately.

Key responsibilities, but not limited to:

• Apply advanced technical knowledge and experience in various welding processes, including SMAW, SAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
• Demonstrate expertise in welding high strength pipeline steels and improved Corrosion Resistant Alloys (CRA).
• Conduct thorough analysis of welded joints' behavior under corrosion, fracture, fatigue, creep, and embrittlement conditions.
• Prepare and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and select appropriate welding consumables.
• Diagnose and resolve welding-related issues and perform weldment failure analysis.
• Ensure compliance with international standards and preferably Qatar Energy Technical Standards.
