Position Summary:

The Health & Wellbeing Coordinator for the College of Nursing works in close partnership with the Manager of Health & Wellbeing to deliver, implement and expand wellness programs and services for nursing students, faculty, and staff across all campuses.

This is a highly hands-on, operational role that integrates program coordination with a strong commitment to relational support. The coordinator serves as a visible and approachable resource, meeting directly with students and employees to provide wellbeing education, brief coaching, and referrals to appropriate campus and community resources, while also coordinating events and supporting the day-to-day implementation, logistics, and communication of wellbeing programs.

As part of the wellbeing team, the coordinator supports College-wide wellbeing efforts and contributes to building a positive and impactful learning and workplace culture that encourages resilience, engagement, and balance.


  • Work closely with the Manager of Health & Wellbeing to implement and expand wellness programs and initiatives aligned with the College of Nursing wellbeing strategy.
  • Coordinate workshops, events, campaigns, and programs addressing the Eight Dimensions of Wellness, prioritizing student wellbeing while supporting faculty and staff.
  • Manage day-to-day operational logistics for wellbeing programs, including scheduling, materials preparation, communications, calendars, partner coordination, and program timelines.
  • Meet individually or in small groups with students, faculty, and staff to provide wellbeing education, brief coaching, guidance, and referrals.
  • Support students navigating stress, adjustment, self-esteem, and overall wellbeing, and guide access to appropriate internal and external mental health and wellness resources in collaboration with Counseling Services and other support units.
  • Provide individual and group coaching for faculty and staff focused on behavior change, goal setting and sustainable lifestyle practices (non-clinical).
  • Maintain clear and appropriate boundaries between wellbeing support, coaching, and clinical counseling, serving as a trusted connector to care.
  • Deliver and support workshops, programs, and training for nursing students and employees focused on stress management, self-care, burnout prevention, resilience, and work-life integration.
  • Assist with outreach and communications to increase awareness, accessibility, and engagement with wellbeing programs and resources, including populations with limited on-campus presence.
  • Serve as a wellness representative across campuses, participating in orientations, admissions events, and other College activities.
  • Collaborate with Student Affairs, faculty, and staff to assist in assessing student wellbeing needs and implementing targeted programs that support academic success, resilience, and professional growth.
  • Partner with campus wellness units (e.g., Counseling Services, Center for Student Well-Being, Recreation & Wellness) to support a coordinated, holistic approach to wellbeing.
  • Partner with local organizations and community resources to strengthen referral networks and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Support program evaluation by collecting participation data and assisting with reports to inform continuous improvement.
  • Maintain program documentation, educational materials, resource lists, and referral information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to advance the College’s wellbeing goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Nutrition, Dietetics, Health Education, Public Health or other related health field with at least one year of experience in a professional training position; or an Associate’s degree in Nursing and licensure as a Registered Nurse with at least three years of experience in a professional training position. A Master’s degree in Public Health Education or any of the above-listed degree fields is preferred. Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.
    • Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
    • SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
    • A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
    • (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
    • (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree;
    • (c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;
    • (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
    • (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
    • Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
    • Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Public Health, Health Promotion, Higher Education, Psychology, Social Work, Organizational Wellness).
  • Experience working in a college, university, healthcare, or academic health sciences environment.
  • Experience providing non-clinical wellbeing education, coaching, guidance, and resource referrals in individual or group settings.
  • Certification or training in health education or wellness coaching (e.g., CHES, NBC-HWC).
  • Experience supporting wellbeing initiatives for both students and employees.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based and trauma-informed wellbeing practices.
  • Experience assisting with program evaluation, data collection, or basic reporting.
  • Experience coordinating programs or events, including scheduling, logistics, communications, and managing multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport, communicate effectively, and engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
