wheel alignment technician

Core responsibilities

• Perform alignments: Use computerized equipment to perform precise wheel alignments according to manufacturer specifications.
• Inspect and diagnose: Inspect tires, suspension, and steering systems for wear or damage to diagnose alignment problems.
• Adjust components: Calibrate and adjust suspension components, such as camber, caster, and toe, using precision tools.
• Test drive: Test-drive vehicles to ensure proper alignment and performance after the service is complete.
• Communicate: Explain alignment issues, necessary repairs, and recommendations to service advisors and customers.
• Maintain equipment: Keep tools, equipment, and the work area clean and in good working order.
• Other tasks: Assist with other general automotive repairs and maintenance, which may include tire changes and balancing.

Qualifications

• Experience with automotive systems and wheel alignment principles.
• Experience with specific equipment, such as Hunter alignment machines.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Physical ability to perform job duties, such as lifting and standing for long periods.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
