Role Overview

As a Wheelchair Van Driver (MAVO credential required), you will be a key member of our team providing safe, dependable transportation for clients relying on wheelchair‐accessible vehicles. You’ll help patients get to doctor’s appointments, clinics, hospitals and other destinations — treating them with dignity and a smile.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a wheelchair-accessible van, adhering to all DOT, Medicaid and agency regulations
• Pick up and transport clients on schedule — being punctual is critical
• Assist clients with boarding and disembarking — ensuring safe securement of wheelchairs
• Provide courteous, patient-first customer service and maintain a professional appearance
• Maintain accurate logs, documentation, and follow dispatch instructions
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspection and report any issues
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of your assigned van

Qualifications

• Valid NJ Driver’s License in good standing
• MAVO certification (or able to obtain)(available inhouse)
• CPR (available inhouse)
• Comfortable driving in both urban and suburban environments throughout Ocean & Atlantic counties
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact respectfully with clients of all mobility levels
• Punctual, reliable, dependable
• Able to safely assist clients entering/exiting wheelchair vans and secure transport equipment
• Basic vehicle inspection and maintenance awareness
• Friendly, compassionate demeanor and strong customer service ethic
