Job Title: Wood Installation Supervisor

Job Summary
The Wood Installation Supervisor oversees and coordinates all on-site activities related to the installation of wood and joinery works—including doors, panels, flooring, cabinetry, ceilings, cladding, and custom millwork. This role ensures installations meet project drawings, quality standards, and safety requirements while managing site teams and maintaining progress schedules.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision & Coordination
- Supervise day-to-day wood installation activities on the job site.
- Assign tasks to carpenters and installation teams, ensuring productivity and efficient workflow.
- Coordinate installation sequences with project managers, designers, and other trade supervisors.
- Review approved drawings, shop drawings, and specifications before execution.
2. Quality Assurance
- Inspect delivered joinery and wood materials to ensure accuracy, quality, and finish standards.
- Ensure installations meet dimensional accuracy, alignment, and finish quality.
- Identify defects or installation issues and manage corrective actions.
- Conduct inspections before consultant/client walk-throughs.
3. Technical & Operational Tasks
- Oversee installation of wood doors, frames, skirting, flooring, wall/ceiling panels, cabinets, wardrobes, and custom joinery elements.
- Ensure correct fixing methods, structural supports, leveling, and finishing processes.
- Monitor proper handling and protection of finished wood products to prevent damage.
- Solve technical challenges such as alignment issues, site measurement mismatches, and material adjustments.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety standards and ensure team members follow PPE requirements.
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure compliance with company and regulatory safety guidelines.
- Identify and mitigate potential safety risks on site.
5. Material & Documentation
- Coordinate with procurement or storekeepers for timely delivery of materials and hardware.
- Monitor and document inventory, material usage, and site storage conditions.
- Maintain daily site progress reports, installation logs, and records for inspections or handover requirements.
- Report site delays, risks, and manpower needs to project management.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Diploma or technical certificate in Carpentry, Joinery, Interior Fit-Out, Construction, or related field (preferred).
- 3–8 years of experience supervising wood/joinery installation on construction or fit-out projects.
- Strong knowledge of joinery details, carpentry techniques, installation hardware, and finishing processes.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret joinery/shop drawings.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship standards.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Good understanding of safety regulations and on-site practices.
