WordPress Developer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining WordPress-based websites and applications. You will work closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to create exceptional digital experiences for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom WordPress themes from scratch based on design mockups and specifications
• Create and modify WordPress plugins to extend functionality
• Implement responsive web design principles to ensure optimal viewing across all devices
• Write clean, well-documented, and efficient PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code
• Integrate third-party APIs and services into WordPress sites
• Perform regular WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates
• Troubleshoot and debug WordPress issues
• Monitor website security and implement security best practices
• Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards
• Document development processes and create technical specifications

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in WordPress development
• Proficient in PHP - Understanding of object-oriented programming principles
• Strong HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills
• Experience with MySQL database management and optimization
• Git version control system proficiency
• Responsive design and mobile-first development approach
• WordPress REST API knowledge and implementation
• Custom post types and custom fields (ACF experience preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field
• Experience with headless WordPress and JAMstack architecture
