We are looking for a skilled and motivated WordPress Developer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating and customizing themes and plugins. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of industry trends, content management systems, and a passion for writing clean, efficient code. You will be instrumental in shaping the architecture, performance, and user experience of our websites.
Key Responsibilities
Development & Customization
- Develop, customize, and maintain responsive WordPress websites and themes from scratch or based on design mockups.
- Customize and extend existing themes and plugins to meet specific project requirements.
- Build custom plugins to add unique functionality to WordPress sites.
- Implement and manage e-commerce solutions using WooCommerce.
Front-End Development
- Convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML, CSS (Sass/Less), and JavaScript.
- Ensure websites are responsive, cross-browser compatible, and adhere to modern web standards.
- Optimize front-end performance for maximum speed and scalability.
Back-End Development & API Integration
- Manage and interact with databases using PHP and MySQL.
- Develop and consume REST API endpoints for third-party integrations (e.g., payment gateways, CRMs, marketing tools).
- Ensure seamless connection between the front-end and back-end.
Performance & Security
- Conduct website performance audits and implement caching strategies (object, page, CDN).
- Implement and follow WordPress security best practices to protect sites from vulnerabilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Collaboration & Maintenance
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, project managers, and other developers.
- Provide technical support, maintenance, and updates for existing client websites.
- Use version control systems (like Git) to manage code and collaborate with the team.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Proven experience as a WordPress Developer, with a portfolio of live WordPress projects.
- Strong proficiency in PHP, including modern PHP standards (OOP).
- Deep understanding of WordPress core architecture, including hooks (actions and filters), custom post types, taxonomies, and the database structure.
- Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and jQuery.
- Experience with responsive design frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS).
- Experience with version control, specifically Git.
- Familiarity with build tools and task runners (e.g., Webpack, Gulp, npm scripts).
- Understanding of web performance optimization (e.g., Core Web Vitals) and SEO principles.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have):
- Experience with a modern JavaScript framework (e.g., React or Vue.js), especially in the context of WordPress (Headless/Decoupled WordPress).
