About the Role
We are looking for a versatile Workday Developer with strong Next.js and frontend engineering skills to support both Workday system enhancements and internal workflow/tooling applications built on Next.js for our client.
This remote role is ideal for someone who is highly technical, understands Workday’s ecosystem, and can also develop modern web interfaces that integrate with HR and Finance processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesWorkday Responsibilities
- Configure and optimize Workday modules (HCM, Payroll, Recruiting, Absence, Time Tracking, etc.).
- Build and maintain integrations using EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, and REST APIs.
- Develop custom Workday reports (Advanced, Matrix, Composite, BIRT).
- Perform regression testing, bug resolution, and release management.
- Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 Workday system support.
- Ensure data quality, security, and Workday best practices.
Next.js / Frontend Responsibilities
- Build internal tools, dashboards, or admin portals using Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
- Integrate Next.js applications with Workday via API endpoints or middleware.
- Maintain responsive, accessible, and high-performance UI components.
- Collaborate with HR/Finance teams to turn system workflows into user-friendly apps.
- Implement authentication, protected routes, and secure data handling.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Workday configuration, integrations, or functional consulting.
- Strong proficiency with Next.js, React, TypeScript, and modern frontend development.
- Experience with Workday integration tools: EIB, Studio, Core Connectors, PECI.
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and integration patterns.
- Ability to gather requirements and translate them into both Workday and web-based solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Workday certifications.
- Experience with Workday Security or Prism.
- Familiarity with Node.js or backend API development.
- Experience building dashboards or internal employee tools.
- DevOps knowledge (Vercel, CI/CD, GitHub Actions).
