A well-established regional law firm is seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Attorney to join its team in New York. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defending workers’ compensation claims and a thorough understanding of New York State Workers’ Compensation Board procedures and regulations.

About the Practice:
The firm’s Workers’ Compensation group provides full-service defense representation to insurance carriers, third-party administrators, self-insured employers, and businesses not covered by workers’ compensation insurance. The team is recognized for its deep knowledge of the complex and time-sensitive nature of workers’ compensation matters, particularly within New York and New Jersey.

Responsibilities:

• Defend workers’ compensation claims before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board.
• Manage all phases of litigation, including hearings, depositions, appeals, and settlements.
• Ensure compliance with filing deadlines and preservation of defenses in controverted matters.
• Prepare and file WCB forms, coordinate independent medical examinations (IMEs), and address issues related to Medical Treatment Guidelines.
• Provide proactive and strategic counsel to clients to minimize exposure and achieve favorable outcomes.
• Participate in client education initiatives, including seminars and legal updates.

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State Bar.
• Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in workers’ compensation defense.
• Strong litigation and case management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
