Description

The Site WHS Officer will partner with a site operations team in a delivery station to execute safety policies and ensure compliance with local and regional regulations. Using lean principles and kaizens, they will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risks and ensure a safe working environment. The officer should build trust with the Operations Team and provide risk assessments and safety data analysis.

The Site WHS Officer must communicate effectively, training Operations Leaders on Amazon WHS policies and incorporating best practices into safety standards. They should possess strong safety program, environmental, and ergonomic knowledge, and demonstrate this expertise while working with Operations. The role reports to the site WHS manager and requires flexibility for shift work.

Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Amazon WHS standards, measuring site safety performance, analyzing incident trends, conducting safety audits, implementing risk mitigation solutions, maintaining records per standards, leading safety training, managing PPE inventory, and ensuring safety practices for equipment and contractors.

Basic qualifications include WHS experience or qualifications, proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, a bachelor's degree in safety or related fields, NEBOSH & IOSH certifications, experience with lean principles, good communication skills in English and local language, and flexible availability.

Preferred qualifications include 1-3 years of safety or environmental program experience, ability to analyze safety data, and current First aid and CPR certifications.
