World Language Teacher (French)- Overland High School

JOB SUMMARY : Develop coursework to support effective instruction of world language at the school level. Effectively deliver instruction that promotes an exemplary educational program and ensures success for all students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
• Bachelor's degree
• Student teaching/practicum/internship experience that meets or exceeds Colorado's requirements
• Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license
• Appropriate CDE endorsements or equivalent in the content field
• Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Basic classroom management and planning skills
• Basic organizational skills
• Intermediate verbal and written communication and interpersonal relations skills
• Ability to align curriculum and assessments with state content standards
• Ability to support programs designed to increase student achievement
• Ability to assume leadership in the development and communication of programs and curriculum
• Ability and desire to work as a team member

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS : Formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other qualifications relevant to the position that are strongly preferred but not mandatory for a candidate to be considered.

• Formal education beyond a Bachelor’s degree
• Three (3) years of successful world language teaching experience
• Experience working in the public sector
• Experience advising school clubs/co-curricular activities
• Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement
