Overview


Amana Healthcare, brought to you by M42 and Mumtalakat, is pleased to announce the first Amana Healthcare facility in Bahrain, located in Al Jasra will open in late 2025. This world-class hospital will provide long-term care and post-acute rehabilitation services.

Amana Healthcare provides long-term care for adult patients with complex medical needs in an inpatient setting. Multidisciplinary care will be provided though intensive care unit (ICU) physicians, geriatricians, nurses, therapists, and a patient & family experience team who work collaboratively to enhance the quality of life for those patients. It also offers specialized rehabilitation for individuals who require inpatient rehabilitation following a life-altering event, such as stroke, brain injury, spine injury, joint replacement, or amputation.


Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Wound Care Nurse to assess, treat, and manage acute and chronic wounds across various patient populations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in evidence-based wound care practices and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal healing outcomes. This role is critical in ensuring patient comfort, reducing infection risks, and promoting high-quality care in line with NHRA standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate wounds including pressure injuries, diabetic foot ulcers, surgical wounds, burns, and traumatic injuries.
  • Develop and implement individualized wound care plans using evidence-based practices.
  • Perform wound debridement, dressing changes, and use of advanced wound care products (e.g., VAC therapy, hydrocolloids, antimicrobials).
  • Monitor wound progression and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on wound care techniques, hygiene, and prevention of complications.
  • Collaborate with physicians, physiotherapists, dietitians, and infection control teams to support holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in patient records and ensure compliance with NHRA and infection control protocols.
  • Participate in quality assurance, audits, and staff education related to wound care.
  • Monitor inventory and ensure proper storage and use of wound care supplies.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Valid nursing license from the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) in Bahrain.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1–2 years in wound care.
  • Certification in wound care (e.g., WOCN, WCC, or equivalent) preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • CPR/BLS certification (ACLS is an advantage).
