XML Developer

We are seeking a skilled XML Developer responsible for designing, developing, validating, and enhancing XML-based integrations and schema structures. The role involves developing XML schemas (XSD), validating XML documents, and automating testing processes to ensure data integrity, compliance, and seamless system integration. The ideal candidate will also support modernization initiatives, including SOAP to REST transformation, and ensure security compliance across integration layers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance XML schemas (XSD) to support enterprise integrations.
• Programmatically validate XML documents against defined schemas and business rules.
• Develop automated test scripts for schema validation, regression testing, and data integrity checks.
• Analyze existing XML schemas to identify inefficiencies such as redundancy, improper data types, and weak constraints, and implement improvements while maintaining backward compatibility.
• Perform XML and JSON schema-based transformations and mappings.
• Support SOAP to REST modernization initiatives and API integration projects.
• Implement and maintain WS-Security standards including SOAP header security, XML encryption, and token-based authentication.
• Manage security certificates for secure system integrations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve XML validation errors, integration issues, and schema conflicts.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and integration teams to ensure schemas align with business and technical requirements.
• Ensure compliance with integration standards, interface specifications, and governance policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience working as an XML Developer or Integration Developer.
• Strong expertise in XML, XSD, XPath, XSLT, and XML validation techniques.
• Experience with XML and JSON transformation and mapping.
• Hands-on experience with SOAP and REST web services.
• Strong knowledge of WS-Security, XML Encryption, and authentication mechanisms.
• Experience in SOAP to REST migration and modernization.
• Experience in Security Certificate Management.
• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks for XML validation.
• Understanding of integration patterns and enterprise integration concepts.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
