Yarn planning & sourcing - Manager

Job Description:

To manage end-to-end yarn sourcing, vendor development, and production planning to ensure uninterrupted supply of quality yarn at competitive prices, supporting smooth operations and timely order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Yarn Sourcing & Procurement

• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with yarn suppliers for quality, price, and timely delivery.
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships for reliable supply.
• Ensure sourcing aligns with production schedules and cost targets.
• Monitor global and domestic yarn market trends, prices, and availability.

2. Planning & Inventory Management

• Prepare monthly/weekly yarn sourcing plans based on sales forecasts and production schedules.
• Monitor yarn stock levels, lead times, and consumption patterns to avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Coordinate with production, sales, and warehouse teams for smooth material flow.
• Optimize inventory turnover while maintaining required safety stocks.

3. Cost & Quality Control

• Benchmark supplier prices and ensure cost competitiveness.
• Collaborate with quality teams for yarn testing and approval.
• Minimize sourcing costs without compromising quality.
• Implement supplier audits and compliance checks.

4. Coordination & Reporting

• Work closely with weaving, knitting, and production teams to align yarn availability with production needs.
• Provide regular MIS reports on sourcing status, cost analysis, inventory health, and supplier performance.
• Support management in strategic sourcing decisions and risk mitigation.

Key Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of yarn types, blends, and applications in textiles.
• Expertise in vendor management, negotiation, and supplier development.
• Good understanding of production planning and inventory management.
• Analytical and decision-making skills with cost-conscious approach.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and textile supply chain processes.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹394,287.61 - ₹1,301,143.37 per year
