Youth Development Coordinator

Youth Horizons’ Kinloch Price Boys Ranch (KPBR) is seeking a Youth Development Coordinator—a mission‑driven team member dedicated to creating growth opportunities for boys ages 10–18 in foster care. In this role, you will work directly with youth, school partners, community resources, and ranch staff to help residents build the skills, confidence, and support systems they need to transition successfully into their next stage of life.

This role blends education support, life skills coordination, career preparation, recreation leadership, and ministry involvement—all while maintaining a Gospel‑driven, grace‑centered environment.

What You’ll Do

Education Support

  • Partner with secondary & post‑secondary institutions
  • Coordinate access to educational services, tutoring resources, and school supplies
  • Implement milestone celebrations and incentive programs to encourage academic growth
  • Support study time, homework help, and communication with school staff
  • Track school calendars, deadlines, enrollments, and extracurricular opportunities

Life Skills Development

  • Research and coordinate life skills programming (finance, cooking, communication, etc.)
  • Connect residents with professionals and volunteers to teach skill-based activities
  • Continuously improve ranch life skill curriculum with KPBR leadership

Career Preparation

  • Build partnerships with local businesses to provide job opportunities, mentoring, and training
  • Coordinate workforce development programs
  • Utilize career exploration tools, assessments, and job‑shadowing resources

Recreation & Community Engagement

  • Plan indoor and outdoor recreation that supports health, teamwork, and positive experiences
  • Provide staff with accessible activity lists and resource ideas
  • Encourage active lifestyles and community engagement

On‑Call Responsibilities

  • Serve on the on‑call rotation every 4th week (different from management on‑call)
  • Provide over‑the‑phone support for medical questions or behavior concerns
  • Transport residents to ER visits, JIAC, or other needed locations
  • Receive training and support from KPBR Youth Advocates and leadership

Administrative Tasks

  • Manage timely communication, documentation, and data reporting
  • Support KPBR program activities and events (e.g., holiday events, Sun Run)
  • Occasionally supervise residents or assist with transportation

Faith & Ministry Expectations

Youth Horizons is a Christian ministry. All staff members are expected to:

  • Pray regularly for the work, residents, and staff
  • Actively participate in a local church community
  • Foster a Gospel‑Driven environment rooted in grace, community, and relational care

What We’re Looking ForQualifications

  • High school diploma required; higher education and bachelor’s degree preferred (social work, education, psychology, or related field)
  • Experience working in foster care or youth services preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to work effectively with youth ages 10–18 with intensive needs

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and deadlines
  • Understanding of trauma‑informed and evidence‑based practices
  • Organizational skills and flexibility
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Collaborative, positive team‑focused work ethic

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Work occurs both indoors and outdoors throughout the year
  • Exposure to loud environments, frequent interruptions, and potentially unsafe behaviors
  • May occasionally need to assist in physical restraint (Safe Crisis Management certification required)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
