Job Overview
The Zoo Funding Analyst plays a vital role in managing and analyzing financial resources allocated to zoo projects and initiatives. This position involves evaluating funding proposals, monitoring budgets, and ensuring the effective use of financial resources to support the zoo's conservation, education, and operational goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, excellent organizational skills, and familiarity with financial software to facilitate accurate reporting and data management.

Duties

  • Analyze funding proposals and grant applications to assess financial viability and alignment with organizational goals
  • Monitor and track expenditures against budgets to ensure proper allocation of funds
  • Prepare detailed financial reports for internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Collaborate with conservation and educational teams to develop budget forecasts and funding strategies
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to zoo funding initiatives
  • Assist in the preparation of grant applications and funding requests as needed
  • Conduct periodic audits of funded projects to ensure compliance with financial policies and guidelines

Skills

  • Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks, Excel, or other relevant tools
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
