Utility Specialist – HVAC
Function: HVAC low side and high side, BMS system
Reporting To: Utility Excellence Lead
Work Location: Multi-site assignment
Key Responsibilities: -
Operational knowledge:
Operation and maintenance of Chillers (air/ water cooled, Capacity more than 700 TR), Cooling Towers (Capacity more than 500 TR), Hot Water Generation, Pumps, water circulation valves, PHE, Air Handling Units (AHU), maintaining of environmental conditions, dehumidifiers, terminal HEPA Filter & other air filters, BMS and automation systems.
Review and Support:
Periodic qualification HVAC, execution and review of HVAC qualification (URS, IQ, OQ, PQ), Classification of area, AHU zoning, Pressure zoning, as built layouts, filter cleaning and replacement, HEPA filter replacement procedure and schedule, understanding of SMACNA guidelines, calibration of sensors and field instruments
Accountability:- All critical utilities in running/standby mode must be healthy.
- Review SOPs, PM checklists, and get them revise based on efficacy.
- Conduct capability assessments of the utility team at all sites.
- Ensure critical inventory (like Pump bearing, Geskette, Cooling coils, motors, refrigeration gases, oil, sensors) is maintained.
- Take a proactive approach to mitigate risk—regular site visits and cross-site support.
- Ensure operations and maintenance adhere to OEM recommendations.
- Ensure for the training to the utility staff towards operation and maintenance.
- Promote energy and cost optimization across HVAC systems.
Desired Profile:
Minimum 5–7 years in OEM (Trane/ Carrier/ Bry air/ Citizen) / manufacturer of HVAC equipments. Good operation and troubleshooting skills in HVAC high and low side operation. Strong skill in maintaining environmental conditioning in clean rooms.
