Job Title: Academic Coordinator (Health Sector)
Job Summary
The Academic Coordinator (Health Sector) is responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and effective delivery of academic instruction across multiple health-related programs. This role oversees academic operations, coordinates faculty activities, manages course implementation, and provides administrative support to the Director. The Coordinator plays a vital role in strengthening teaching and learning processes through strategic planning, monitoring, and collaboration within the ZMT Primary Healthcare Network.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in BSN, BDS, Pharm D, or a related health discipline (required)
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (preferred)
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in academic coordination or healthcare education
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS), virtual/streaming platforms, and digital tools
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Competency in internet-based tools and applications
- Preferred: Experience in marketing, promotion, public relations, and advanced computer skills
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the development, administration, and delivery of academic courses and programs
- Plan, implement, promote, and evaluate academic programs, including the development of administrative guidelines
- Coordinate with academic departments across the ZMT Primary Healthcare Network to ensure program alignment and quality standards
- Collaborate with faculty on course design, instructional delivery, and student learning support
- Monitor course progress by addressing faculty and student concerns, incorporating feedback, and ensuring achievement of program objectives
- Conduct course assessments, analyze outcomes, and prepare reports to support continuous improvement
- Maintain accurate records of faculty assignments, course schedules, and academic activities
- Support prospective and enrolled students in coordination with relevant ZMT departments
- Manage course-related budgets, including faculty and student compensation
- Ensure effective documentation, reporting, and compliance with institutional policies
- Provide administrative and executive support to the Director, including calendar management, meeting coordination, correspondence, and travel arrangements
- Act as a liaison between the Director and internal/external stakeholders
- Maintain confidential records and assist with accreditation and regulatory compliance processes
- Foster a collaborative and professional work environment
- Engage in continuous professional development through training, networking, and seminars
- Perform additional academic and administrative duties as assigned
