Academic Coordinator- Primary School (PYP Program)

Job Title: Academic Coordinator- Primary School

Grades Covered: Class 1 to Class 6


Role Overview:

We are seeking an  Academic Coordinator for the Primary School  who is passionate about teaching and learning, and who can provide strong academic leadership to teachers while keeping the child at the heart of every decision. The Academic Coordinator will work closely with the Principal, Founder and Pedagogical Team to ensure curriculum coherence, high-quality classroom practices, student growth and well-being and continuous professional growth of teachers.


Key Responsibilities:


Academic Leadership and Program Implementation

  • Ensure effective implementation of the school curriculum across Grades 1-6
  • Work closely with the Curriculum and Pedagogical Team for effective curriculum design
  • Guide teachers in adopting child-friendly, experiential, and inclusive teaching strategies
  • Ensure age-appropriate assessment practices aligned with learning outcomes
  • Encourage teachers to create a positive relationships based classroom culture and follow positive discipline practices


Teacher Support and Development

  • Ensure appropriate selection and onboarding of primary school teachers
  • Mentor and coach primary teachers through observations, feedback, and reflective conversation
  • Facilitate regular academic meetings, grade-level planning sessions, and workshops
  • Identify professional development needs and support continuous learning
  • Provide emotional support to teachers, help them navigate various challenges and develop their intrinsic motivation to excel


Assessment and Monitoring

  • Review student progress data and support teachers with interventions and differentiation
  • Ensure consistency and quality in assessments, report cards, and documentation
  • Track academic goals and support improvement plans
  • Ensure all students are supported to succeed academically and holistically to fulfil their individual potential


Collaboration and Communication

  • Work collaboratively with the school leadership, founder, special educators, counsellors, and subject specialists/consultants
  • Communicate effectively with parents when required, supporting a strong home-school partnership
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and growth-oriented academic culture


Qualifications & Experience

  • Masters Degree in any field with a Postgraduate / Graduate degree in Education
  • Minimum  8-10 years of teaching experience, preferably in Primary School
  • Prior experience as a  Grade Leader / Academic Coordinator / Instructional Leader in an International School (IB/Cambridge) or a Progressive CBSE/CISCE school
  • Strong understanding of child development and primary pedagogy

  • Required Knowledge : Curriculum design, Teaching Learning Processes/Innovative Pedagogy, Educational Management 

Preferred Location: Preferably from Gujarat, open to candidates from other states
