Summary of Job Classification:
Performs paraprofessional accounting and bookkeeping work. Maintains fiscal accounts, journals, ledgers and other financial records and reports. Performs bank reconciliation of financial transactions. Identifies and resolves discrepancies. Provide customer service for internal and external customers; serves as the first point of contact for questions and issues related to financial transactions in the district or department.

Maintains and balances accounting ledgers. Performs bank reconciliation of the courts’ financial transactions with the case management system. Monitors transactions to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
Investigates various financial exception reports and summaries to identify action required to adhere to fiscal rules and procedures.
Provides customer service by responding timely to inquiries from court staff, agency stakeholders, other department personnel, and the public. Resolves difficult and technical financial problems.
Disburses routine and ad hoc registry checks for bonds, restitution, overpayment, revenue, and Victim’s Compensation and Assistance. Processes outstanding, stale dated, and returned checks.
Prepares weekly and monthly financial reports for the District and the Financial Services division.
Develops and maintains record keeping procedures in accordance with legal, fiscal, and departmental regulations.
Maintains financial records for audit purposes. Formulates district responses to audit requests. Trains staff per auditors’ recommendations.
Provides financial accounting information to the public, banks, and employees of the court and related agencies. Completes required trainings and attend meetings as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Job has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others.

Work requires regular interaction involving exchange and receipt of information. Interactions have limited impact.

Employee normally performs assignments after receiving detailed instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results with little room for deviation. The immediate Reviewer may, at times, provide close and constant review. Impact of actions are moderate.

Work requires comprehensive, practical knowledge of work processes. Incumbent can complete a broad range of work, sometimes complex, without frequent reference to others. Likely impact on organization is standard.
Fiscal Responsibility:
May be responsible for the billing, collection and/or accounting of funds.
Education and Experience Equivalency:
High School diploma or G.E.D.
OR
Additional work experience in these or other related fields may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required formal education.
Work Related Experience:
1 to 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or similar field.
Licenses and Certifications:
None.
Physical Effort Requirements:
Satisfactory - Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Occasional outside work.
Work Environment:
Good - Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.
Work Location:
Office or similar indoor environment; confined space; outdoor environment.
