About the Role

We are seeking an Account Coordinator to join our Bellingham office. This role supports the region’s legal teams by managing account balances, preparing settlement accountings, and processing release and trust packets. It is a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable with numbers, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and client service come first. You will communicate frequently with attorneys, paralegals, medical providers, and insurance representatives, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. The position requires strong organizational skills, excellent follow-through, and a customer-service mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and cross-reference medical bills, payment ledgers, and records with precision.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all records and comply with HIPAA standards.
  • Prepare and process settlement and forensic accountings accurately and on deadline.
  • Communicate regularly with healthcare providers, insurers, and state agencies (HCA).
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in billing or insurance records.
  • Track and follow up on all outstanding requests to ensure timely responses.
  • Provide consistent and professional communication with both internal teams and external contacts.

What We Are Looking For

  • A professional, friendly attitude and a team-oriented approach.
  • At least one year of experience in an administrative or accounting support role (legal or personal injury experience is a plus).
  • Strong math, proofreading, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel; familiarity with legal software preferred.
  • The ability to type at least 50 wpm and manage multiple priorities with accuracy.
  • A working knowledge of HIPAA and HITECH standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required; a college degree or paralegal certification is preferred.

GLP Attorneys determines compensation using local, national, and industry-specific data to ensure equity and competitiveness. Compensation is based on experience, education, and specialized skills. The hourly base pay range for this non-exempt, bonus-eligible position is $23.00 – $26.00 per hour. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance with employer contributions; an HSA Preferred Plan (GLP sponsors 100% of the employee premium with a $3,000 deductible); life insurance; an Employee Assistance Program (EAP); and a 401(k) retirement plan with a discretionary safe harbor and profit-sharing feature. GLP Attorneys sponsors 25% of all dependent medical coverage, 75% of employee vision premiums, and 25% of employee dental premiums. Employees receive ten vacation days per year, a floating birthday holiday, eight paid holidays plus one flexible holiday, and firm-sponsored paid “bonus days.” Additional benefits include a public transportation and parking subsidy, continued education and tuition reimbursement, paid parental leave, anniversary bonuses, and opportunities for hybrid work schedules.
