Account Coordinator

Thompson & Co. Public Relations is looking for an Account Coordinator for its Anchorage office.

T&C is Alaska’s largest and most respected public relations agency in Alaska with more than 25 years of experience serving clients in a variety of sectors including travel and tourism, telecommunications, resource development, non-profits, education, and state and local government.

An account coordinator is an entry-level position. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in PR, journalism, marketing, communications, English or related field, or have previous experience in public relations. Previous experience in communications, journalism, social marketing, writing or other creative endeavor is a plus.

Job duties may include but are not limited to:

• Supporting an enthusiastic team of experts as we provide our clients with top-notch service
• Providing support for a variety of memorable events like trail runs, outdoor concerts, press conferences, and trips across rural Alaska.
• Working with subject matter experts to create meaningful and memorable content for social media
• Using strong writing skills and mastery of AP Style to develop punchy, targeted press releases that get results for our clients.
• Monitoring social media channels and compiling ROI reports for clients.

• The ability to brainstorm, think creatively and problem solve with minimal direction.
• Solid researching skills.
• Experience with a variety of social media channels.
• Media pitching to local, state and national journalists.
• Media list building and maintenance.
• Attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in PR, journalism, marketing, communications, English or related field, or have previous experience in public relations. Experience in a related field may be substituted for a college degree.
• Previous experience in communications, journalism, social marketing, writing or other creative endeavor is a plus.
• Knowledge and interest in agency client industries
• Experience developing messaging and positioning for brands and campaigns.
• Exceptional writing skills and in-depth knowledge of AP style.
• Detail oriented with ability to multitask.
• Desire to contribute to a growing agency environment with teams across the country.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
