Job Summary:

An Account Manager is responsible for the day-to-day sales of industrial product which includes diesel and gas engine generators, transfer switches, and switch gear. This role is also responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with a contractor and end user customer base and the specifying engineering community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily including the following.

  • Work with inside sales support to read and interpret specifications for potential generator sales.
  • Pull specifications from plan (on-line or hand delivered).
  • Read and interpret specification.
  • Enter bill of material into Kohler-net (on-line pricing system) and print quote.
  • Contact potential customers for project bid lists.
  • Distribute quotation as required to customers.
  • Help customers and employees with product specifications, model numbers, and pricing about company products.
  • Coordinate submittals from Kohler to customers with help from inside sales support position.
  • Prepare weekly call reports and keep company database updated with new business contact, quotes, and sales.
  • Work closely with the inside estimator/project manager to Ensure customers are handled in the proper manner.
  • Ensure project profitability and communicate with both the inside sales support position and the Service Department.
  • Employee will be responsible for a sales territory established by the Industrial Sales Manager.
  • Bilingual in Spanish beneficial.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications/Experience/Education/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from accredited college, or technical school, or 3+ years Industrial Sales Experience (Oil Field/Oil and Gas) experience, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years proven sales experience.
  • Generator knowledge and understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment strongly preferred.
  • Highly competent in the use of Microsoft Office 360 and other Microsoft products/systems. Strong technical aptitude, including ability to learn new systems quickly and train/support team in adoption.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation, which includes a motor vehicle check, and drug screen.
