Job Description – Accountant

Company Overview

We are a rapidly growing startup in the cloud hosting and related services industry. Our company is focused on building a strong and efficient finance function that supports business expansion, ensures compliance, and delivers timely financial insights to management. To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced Accountant with solid technical expertise, hands-on knowledge of Zoho Books, and the ability to manage day-to-day accounting, statutory compliances, and stakeholder coordination.

Position Details

  • Reporting To: Promoter / Virtual CFO
  • Experience Required: 3–5 years
  • Qualification: B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter

Roles & Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Manage end-to-end accounting in Zoho Books, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including payables, receivables, and bank reconciliations.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of financial statements and schedules.

Compliance & Taxation

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns, TDS compliance, and other statutory requirements.
  • Maintain reconciliations for GST and TDS, ensuring alignment with books of accounts.
  • Support basic income tax compliances and coordinate with consultants for statutory filings.

Audit & Coordination

  • Prepare audit schedules and documentation for statutory and tax audits.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, company secretary, and the Virtual CFO team, ensuring timely flow of information and compliance.
  • Maintain statutory registers, financial records, and other required documentation.

MIS & Reporting

  • Generate periodic MIS reports for management, including P&L statements, balance sheet extracts, and receivables/payables.
  • Monitor compliance deadlines and highlight key variances or risk areas proactively.
  • Support budgeting, financial planning, and internal process improvements.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong working knowledge of Zoho Books.
  • Good understanding of accounting standards, GST, and TDS compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel for reconciliations and reporting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • High attention to detail, ownership, and problem-solving approach.

  • Direct exposure to working with Promoters, Virtual CFO, and senior stakeholders.
  • Hands-on involvement with auditors, legal, and secretarial teams.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
