Accountant

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, and will be proficient in various accounting software such as ERP, QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. This role will involve managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Accountant will also play a key role in financial analysis, budgeting, and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including journal entries and account reconciliation.
• Perform financial report writing and interpretation to provide insights into financial performance.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to support corporate finance initiatives.
• Provide technical accounting support for non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, and public accounting matters.
• Conduct cash flow analysis and bank reconciliation to optimize financial management.
• Participate in auditing processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
• Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on best practices in bookkeeping and financial analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; or related certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial concepts including accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial management principles.
• Experience in salaries, account payable, account receivables, ledgers and financial reporting is a required.
• Familiarity with payroll processing and tax experience is desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
• Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
