Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant with 3–4 years of experience in the NGO / Non-Profit sector in Pakistan. The role involves managing financial records, donor-funded project accounting, statutory compliance, and financial reporting in accordance with local laws and donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts for the NGO
- Manage project-wise and donor-wise accounting and fund utilization
- Record grants, donations, and expenses as per donor agreements
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and donors
- Handle bank and cash reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including:
- Income Tax Ordinance, 2001
- Withholding tax and sales tax (where applicable)
- FBR reporting and filings
- SECP / Registrar of Societies requirements (as applicable)
- Support preparation of budgets and monitor budget vs actual expenses
- Assist in internal and external audits and coordinate with auditors
- Maintain proper documentation for grants, donor contracts, and financial records
- Ensure timely reporting to donors, government authorities, and stakeholders
- Support compliance requirements of Economic Affairs Division (EAD), if applicable
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com / BBA Finance)
- 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in NGO / Non-Profit sector
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and NGO financial management
- Familiarity with donor-funded project accounting and reporting
- Working knowledge of FBR tax filings and withholding tax
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, ERP systems)
- Strong MS Excel skills
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
