Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our financial team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the organization’s financial health. Your expertise will help drive accurate financial reporting, streamline accounting processes, and contribute to strategic decision-making. Duties

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards.
  • Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Oversee financial report writing and interpretation to support management decision-making.
  • Perform cash flow analysis, bank reconciliations, and budget forecasting to optimize financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist with internal audits.
  • Support regulatory reporting requirements and maintain detailed documentation for audit purposes.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Xero, or similar platforms to enhance efficiency.
  • Assist with tax preparation activities and maintain records related to Wills, trusts & estate law when applicable.
  • Mentor junior staff members in technical accounting practices, promoting professional development within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting environments.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, securities law, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Xero, or equivalent tools; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and internal control frameworks.
  • Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Excellent understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles including debits & credits.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial concepts and prepare comprehensive financial reports.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.

Pay: $64,539.25 - $77,724.69 per year
