We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our financial team. Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Perform account reconciliation tasks for general ledger accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank statements to ensure data integrity.
- Manage payroll processing using systems such as ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, including payroll management and related tax filings.
- Utilize accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or Workday to record transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct journal entries and double-entry bookkeeping to maintain precise financial records.
- Assist with budgeting processes, financial analysis, and account analysis to support organizational planning.
- Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and other regulatory requirements related to financial reporting.
- Support governmental accounting functions and non-profit accounting procedures as needed.
- Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills; handle account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation diligently.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP standards and technical accounting principles.
- Proficiency with various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Wave, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with payroll management systems like Paychex or UltiPro is highly desirable.
- Experience with tax preparation and compliance processes.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis and reconcile accounts accurately.
- Excellent understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger management.
- Strong mathematical skills coupled with attention to detail for data entry and bookkeeping tasks.
- Knowledge of public accounting practices is a plus; familiarity with non-profit accounting is advantageous.
