Accountant (Garment Export House)

India

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain day-to-day accounting and financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliation, and general ledger.
  • Handle export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and shipping bills.
  • Monitor and record foreign exchange transactions and export proceeds realization.
  • Prepare and file GST, TDS, and other statutory returns.
  • Coordinate with the CHA (Customs House Agent) and logistics team for smooth export operations.
  • Manage cost accounting for fabric, trims, production, and shipment expenses.
  • Reconcile accounts with buyers, vendors, and freight forwarders.
  • Assist in internal and external audits.
  • Prepare monthly and yearly financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain records for duty drawback, MEIS/RODTEP, and other government incentives.
  • Coordinate with banks for LCs (Letters of Credit), BRCs (Bank Realization Certificates), and other export finance-related tasks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance (CA Inter or M.Com preferred).
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in an export-oriented garment/textile industry.
  • Strong understanding of export finance, GST, TDS, and accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Tally ERP / Tally Prime or other accounting software.
  • Knowledge of DGFT procedures, banking norms for exports, and customs regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with foreign currency transactions and accounting.
  • Understanding of government export incentives like MEIS, RODTEP, etc.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems used in the garment industry.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
