Accounting Associate/Bookkeeper
We are looking for a skilled Accounting Associate/Bookkeeper to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and clerical tasks. Accounting Associate will run accounting software programs to process business transactions for Accounts Payable(to consist of PO Expenditures, Direct Expenditures, and Travel/Employee Expenditures) and Document Scanning/Indexing. Ultimately, a successful Accounting Associate will ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.
Responsibilities to include Accounts Payable, Docuware Scanning/Indexing and other Accounting/Clerical duties:
Accounts Payable:
- Verify Invoice with packing slip and receiving documents
- Enter A/P Invoices in Accounting Systems
- Process payment of AP invoices according to terms and disburse payments
- Communicate with Vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Communicate with Purchasing Team to resolve Purchase Order/ Direct Expenditure receipt discrepancies.
- Verify/Confirm Positive Pay transactions daily
- Verify & Review Travel/ Employee Expenditure documents for accuracy and processing
- Other Accounts Payable duties as needed
Docuware Scanning/Indexing:
- Prepare/Scan/Index AP Invoices weekly
- Prepare/Scan/Index other Accounting documents as needed
Other Responsibilities to include:
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Prepare general ledger postings and statements daily
- Provide assistance and support to company personnel
- Research, track and resolve accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Compile reports/summaries to Upper Management per Month End and Year End Closing Activities.
- Function duties in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
- Constantly update job knowledge through provided training
Skills
- Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Payable clerk
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Competency in MS Office(Excel, Word, etc), databases and accounting software
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
- Data entry and word processing skills
- Well organized
- Pleasant Attitude
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: starting at $16.50/ hour, negotiable based on education and experience

- Accounting/Bookkeeping: 3 years (Preferred)

- Associate's degree or relevant certification is a plus
