Duties
- Process and verify all accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Manage data entry for invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Workday.
- Reconcile accounts payable ledger and perform general ledger reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
- Prepare journal entries related to accounts payable and assist with month-end closing activities.
- Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues promptly.
- Assist with accounts receivable functions, including processing incoming payments and customer account reconciliations.
- Contribute to broader accounting functions such as payroll management, benefits administration, and general ledger accounting when needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounts payable processing, bookkeeping, or related accounting roles within corporate or nonprofit settings.
- Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Sage, PeopleSoft or Ceridian is highly desirable.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation and identify discrepancies efficiently.
- Skilled in data entry with high accuracy (10 key typing proficiency preferred).
- Knowledge of governmental accounting standards or public accounting experience is a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
