Job Title: Accounting Executive
Reports to: Finance Manager
Function: Accounting
Job Overview:
The Accounting Executive will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. The role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable:
- Process customer invoices and credit memos.
- Monitor and follow up on timely job card approvals.
- Maintain customer accounts and follow up to ensure timely payments.
- Reconcile customer accounts and issue statements of receivables.
- Prepare and analyze customer aging reports.
- Resolve customer billing inquiries and disputes.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Prepare quarterly revenue reports in the required format.
- Reconcile VAT payable on a quarterly basis.
- Assist with the processing of employee expense reports.
General Accounting:
- Prepare journal entries for various accounting transactions.
- Assist with account reconciliations (e.g., bank, credit card).
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for all accounting transactions.
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Prepare various financial reports as required (e.g., sales reports, expense reports).
Other Responsibilities:
- Support special projects as needed.
- Provide assistance to other members of the Finance team.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Invoice Accuracy: Maintain 100% accuracy in all customer invoices.
- Timely Collections: Ensure 100% timely collection of outstanding invoices.
- Revenue Report Accuracy: Maintain 100% accuracy in revenue reports for regulatory compliance.
- Reconciliation Accuracy: Achieve 100% accuracy in account reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in an accounting role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Effective time management and organizational abilities.
