Accounting & Finance Associate - Remote (Full Time)

We are seeking a detail oriented Finance & Accounts Associate to support ongoing accounting and finance projects for multiple clients. This is a remote, contract based role ideal for someone with hands-on accounting and finance experience who can work independently and meet deadlines.

You will assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, reconciliations, reporting, and client deliverables across various industries including MSP, SaaS, Construction, Retail, Consultancy, e-commerce, and professional services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record day-to-day financial transactions in Xero and/or QuickBooks Online
• Perform bank, credit card, and payment processor reconciliations
• Assist with month-end close activities
• Maintain general ledger accuracy
• Prepare basic financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Handle sales tax / VAT support (data prep, reconciliations - not filing unless experienced)
• Support inventory accounting (Cin7, A2X, Finale, Zoho Inventory)
• Help clean up and organize accounting records
• Follow SOPs and meet client deadlines
• Communicate progress and issues clearly in a remote environment

Required Qualifications:

• Accounting degree or Certification (ACCA/CPA or part-qualified)
• 1–3 years of practical experience in accounting or finance
• Strong working knowledge of Xero and/or QuickBooks Online
• Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals (debits/credits, accruals)
• Experience with bank reconciliations
• Proficiency with Google Sheets / Excel
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Reliable internet connection and availability during agreed hours

Preferred (Nice to Have):

• Experience with e-commerce accounting (Stripe, PayPal, Shopify, Amazon)
• Experience with construction accounting or job costing
• Familiarity with Inventory Management softwares
• Exposure to US, UK, or Australian accounting
