ACCOUNTING MANAGER

How You'll Contribute

  • Review and approve accounts payable, manage wire transfers.
  • Perform reconciliations of payroll, revenue, contributions, investments, etc.
  • Review reconciliations performed by the Bookkeeper.
  • Lead the month-end and fiscal year-end close; produce monthly reports.
  • Maintain net assets detail/roll forward.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, including forecasting.
  • Lead annual audit (990, single audit, DOE filings) and maintain audit files.
  • Approve payroll, tax documents, and work-study reimbursements, balance payroll reports.
  • Review/oversee COBRA tracking, ACA notifications, and employee changes.
  • Prepare employment verification, handle unemployment claims and payroll audits.
  • Prepare ACA, 403b, W-2, and FWS documents.
  • Maintain benefit information, prepare and distribute enrollment materials.
  • Maintain internal controls.
  • Train and supervise the Office Manager and Bookkeeper.
  • Oversee Great Plains accounting system .
  • Delegate compliance action items, as necessary; facilitate and ensure completion of all compliance reporting.

Experience and Skills:

About You

  • 6+ years of accounting experience with similar responsibilities, preferably in a small office.
  • B.S. in accounting, finance, economics, or similar; CPA preferred.
  • Experience with MS Dynamics Great Plains, CAMS strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Paylocity a plus.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, FASB Pronouncements, and IRS regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including internal equity, market data, the candidate's qualifications- including but not limited to specialty skills, prior relevant industry experience, relevant degrees or certifications. The salary range estimate below is inclusive of all departments, and offered salaries may vary within the given range between departments. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this level is $75,000 to $85,000 annualized and other competitive benefits.
