$40/hour. 1099 Contractor position, Flexible hours (20-40 hours per week) with ability to grow into full time work and eventual road to firm partnership.

Join our dynamic team as an Accounting Firm Manager, where you will lead and oversee all financial operations within a thriving accounting practice. As a key leader, you will drive the firm's strategic growth and marketing iniatives, ensure onboarding and delivery of client services, and build out processes that emphasize accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Expertise in financial software, tax and financial reporting will be essential to streamline processes and support our clients’ success.

Duties

• Manage daily accounting operations, including overseeing bookkeeping, payroll, tax preparation, and financial reporting activities. Ensure deadlines are met and workflow stays in process.
• Lead and mentor junior accountants and support staff to achieve high performance and professional development goals. Onboard new contractors/accountants into firm including administrative paperwork and onboarding sessions to teach processes.
• Develop and implement firm policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency
• Assist in daily advancement of the marketing strategies including social media posts, blogs, and client building activities.
• Meet with potential clients to assess how we can meet their needs and come up with billing through a billing complexity framework.
• Utilize advanced financial software to prepare accurate financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and tax filings, including ad-hoc projects
• Cultivate strong relationships with clients by providing expert advice on financial planning and business growth strategies
• Monitor workflow to meet deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and integrity
• Lead staff capacity planning to make sure we have enough people to cover work obligations, decide about additional hiring needs

Requirements

• 10+ years as an accountant with a financial reporting background. Tax preparation is a bonus. Proven experience managing an accounting or finance team within an accounting firm or similar environment
• Extensive knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS) and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in financial software applications such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
• Excellent communication skills for sales, client interactions, and team collaboration. Ability to close potential clients into paying clients and maintain relationships.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
• Ability to see the big picture of the firm, including short and long term strategy, staff capacity planning and guide marketing strategies to bring in new clients.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA certification is highly desirable
