Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and systems-minded finance professional to establish and manage our accounting infrastructure. This individual will own day-to-day accounting while also building the processes, controls, and reporting frameworks typically found in more mature organizations.

You will operate at the intersection of bookkeeping and controllership, executing transactions while also designing the system those transactions live in.

We are not necessarily looking for someone with experience in aviation. We need someone who has managed financials and operations for a small dynamic business and is eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

• Select, implement, and maintain accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or equivalent)
• Design a chart of accounts tailored to aviation operations (fuel, maintenance, leases, crew costs, etc.)
• Establish workflows for AR, AP, payroll, and general ledger
• Build scalable processes from scratch - not patchwork fixes
• Create and enforce billing procedures (contracts, invoicing cycles, collections)
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition aligned with services rendered

Qualifications

• 3 - 8 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or early-stage finance roles
• Demonstrated experience setting up accounting systems from scratch (non-negotiable)
• Strong understanding of GAAP fundamentals
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, or comparable platforms
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
• Experience in aviation, logistics, or asset-heavy industries is a strong plus
• CPA or CMA is a plus, not a requirement
