Accounting Manager

Role Overview

Salary is negotiable based upon experience.

The Accounting Manager at Faztek is responsible for the execution, accuracy, and timeliness of all core accounting operations, ensuring the company maintains a real-time, reliable understanding of its financial position.

This is a hands-on, player-coach role — managing a small team (currently one direct report) while also directly performing key accounting functions. The role requires someone who can own the day-to-day execution immediately while building scalable processes to support a rapidly growing organization.

This role is best suited for a hands-on accounting leader who has a proven track record of owning the close, managing cash flow disciplines, and building scalable processes. The ideal candidate brings both execution strength and leadership capability, with the desire and potential to grow into a Controller role as the company continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities (Primary Focus)

Monthly Close Ownership

· Maintain and manage the monthly financial close schedule.

· Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.

· Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes.

Daily Accounting Discipline

· Ensure all daily transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with company policies.

· Maintain integrity of the general ledger through consistent review and oversight.

Accounts Receivable & Cash Collections

· Monitor AR aging and ensure collections are actively managed and executed.

· Partner cross-functionally to resolve issues impacting collections and cash flow.

Accounts Payable & Cash Disbursements

· Ensure AP processes are efficient and payments are made timely.

· Maintain oversight of cash outflows and vendor relationships.

Financial Controls & Process Improvement

· Maintain, develop, and improve internal financial controls.

· Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable processes and automation.

CWIP & Fixed Asset Management

· Track Construction Work in Progress (CWIP) projects and ensure proper capitalization.

· Maintain accurate fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.

Financial Visibility & Leadership Support

· Provide timely and accurate financial information to the CFO and ownership.

· Support daily/weekly visibility into financial performance and key trends.

Leadership & Team Management

· Supervise and develop accounting staff (currently one direct report).

· Operate as a player-coach, balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on execution.

· Build team structure, processes, and accountability as the company grows.

Secondary Responsibilities (Support Functions)

· Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.

· Support audits and external financial reporting.

· Manage and support grant reporting requirements.

· Support general liability insurance claims and related processes.

· Assist with and support HR benefits administration processes.

· Collaborate with external partners including auditors, banks, and advisors.

· Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Experience & Qualifications

· 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.

· Demonstrated ability to independently perform core accounting functions (close, AR/AP, reconciliations).

· Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA preferred).

· Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial close processes.

· Experience with ERP systems and strong Excel skills.

Key Attributes for Success

· Hands-on and execution-driven

· Process builder — able to create structure in a growing environment

· Detail-oriented and accurate

· Accountable and deadline-focused

· Scalable thinker — builds for where the company is going, not just where it is today

Growth Opportunity

This role is intended to evolve into a Controller position as Faztek continues to grow. The ideal candidate is someone who can establish strong accounting foundations today and scale systems, controls, and team structure over time to support that progression.
