Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels, incorporating techniques such as ballet, theater dance, and other styles.
- Lead engaging dance classes that promote proper technique, coordination, flexibility, and musicality.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively by maintaining discipline, encouraging participation, and fostering a supportive atmosphere.
- Provide individualized tutoring and feedback to help students improve their skills and build confidence.
- Organize performances or showcases that showcase student progress and celebrate their achievements.
- Incorporate elements of choreography, costume design, or stage presence into lessons when appropriate.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health guidelines and ensuring proper use of equipment and space.
Skills
- Strong background in various dance styles such as ballet, theater dance, or contemporary movement.
- Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to different age groups including early childhood education and preschool settings.
- Excellent teaching skills with the ability to engage students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Classroom management expertise to create a positive learning environment while handling behavioral challenges effectively.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and special education needs to adapt instruction accordingly.
- Skills in working with children, teenagers, or adult learners with patience and enthusiasm.
- Ability to incorporate creative elements such as photography or theatrical performance into lessons when appropriate.
- Experience in childcare or preschool environments is a plus for working with young children.
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies to support student growth and discipline.
