Accounting Supervisor

BASIC FUNCTION:

Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, this position is responsible for supervising junior accounting staff, coordination and preparation of monthly financials for multiple entities. This includes handling of confidential information with regards to preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. The ideal candidate should possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supervise Accounting team.

2. Coordinate, prepare & review monthly reconciliations.

3. Prepare & review journal entries.

4. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

5. Oversee payroll functions.

• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.

7. Investigate and resolve account discrepancies

8. Preparation of annual tax forms 1099, 1095, W-2 as well as CA Sales & Use Tax

• Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting procedures.
• Perform other accounting duties and support junior staff as required or assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration with advanced training in accounting.

2. 3+ years of related accounting experience.

3. Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

4. Strong analytical and organizational skills.

5. In depth knowledge of Excel and computerized accounting systems.

6. Must have a cooperative, constructive, respectful attitude, and must work well in a team environment.

7. Must possess a valid driver’s license and vehicle, as occasional travel between locations is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

2. Regularly required to walk, sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

3. Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.

4. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

1. On site: Full time

2. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and occasionally is exposed to wet and/or hot/humid conditions

Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
