The Accounts Assistant is responsible for providing support to the account team by maintaining accurate financial records, handling basic accounting tasks, and assisting with the day-to-day accounts department operations. This role ensures that financial data is properly recorded and that payments and receipts are processed in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Recording Financial Transactions:

  • Maintain and update financial records in accounting systems.
  • Record daily sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts in an accurate and timely manner

Bank Reconciliation:

  • Reconcile bank statements with internal financial records on a regular basis.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between bank transactions and ledger entries.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests.
  • Track and follow up on outstanding payments and ensure timely collections.
  • Handle supplier and customer queries regarding payment status.

Expense Management:

  • Monitor and record company expenses, ensuring that all expense claims are processed.
  • Assist in tracking and managing petty cash transactions.

General Administrative Support:

  • File and maintain accounting documents and records.
  • Assist with administrative tasks within the finance department as required.

Job Specification of Accounts Assistant

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Must have 4 to 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance-related role.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Must have experience with any accounting software e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, etc.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record keeping.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting procedures.

Personal Attributes:

  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new financial systems and procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs70,000.00 - Rs90,000.00 per month
