Accounts Assistant - Construction

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Accountant to support the finance team in managing day-to-day accounting activities within our construction business. The successful candidate will assist with financial record-keeping, accounts payable and receivable, project cost tracking, payroll support, and preparation of financial reports. Experience in the construction industry is preferred due to the project-based nature of accounting and cost management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and accounting documentation.
  • Process accounts payable invoices and supplier payments.
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables.
  • Support project cost tracking, job costing, and budget monitoring.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims.
  • Record daily financial transactions and maintain accounting systems.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare financial reports, schedules, and management reports as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and tax regulations.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for financial and project-related documents.
  • Assist external auditors and accountants during audits and financial reviews.
  • Collaborate with project managers and procurement teams regarding project expenditures and budgets.

RequirementsEducation & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of construction accounting principles, job costing, and project accounting is an advantage.
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Tally, or similar).

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs30,000.00 - Rs45,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
