Duties and Responsibilities of an Accounts Assistant

  • Daily Accounting Tasks
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions in accounting software or ledgers.
  • Maintain books of accounts including sales, purchase, and cash/bank books.
  • Invoice Processing
  • Prepare and issue sales invoices to clients.
  • Verify, process, and record purchase invoices from suppliers.
  • Bank and Cash Handling
  • Handle petty cash transactions and maintain petty cash records.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and track bank transactions.
  • GST and Tax Filing Support
  • Assist in preparing GST returns and ensure timely filing.
  • Maintain records of TDS deductions and help in filing TDS returns.
  • Vendor and Customer Account Management
  • Track receivables and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Reconcile accounts with suppliers and customers.
  • Financial Reporting
  • Assist in preparing monthly and yearly financial reports.
  • Support auditors during internal or external audits by providing necessary documents.
  • Payroll Assistance
  • Support payroll processing by maintaining attendance and salary data.
  • Record salary disbursements and related entries.
  • Data Entry and Documentation
  • Ensure accurate data entry and maintain proper filing of financial documents.
  • Digitally organize and back up all financial records.
  • Compliance and Accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Identify and correct accounting errors or mismatches.
  • Coordination with Other Departments
  • Collaborate with the purchase, sales, and HR departments for accurate financial records.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
