Job Title : Accounts Assistant

Location: Karachi, Pakistan
Reports to: Accounting Manager / Controller

About the Role:

As an Accounts Assistant, you will support the financial operations of our construction firm. Your role will be pivotal, handling accounts payable/receivable, job costing, record management, and supporting both accounting and administrative functions—laying the groundwork for growth within our finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process vendor invoices, subcontractor payment applications, and change orders.
  • Handle weekly check runs and vendor payment distributions.
  • Set up new vendor records, manage W‑9s, verify subcontractor insurance certificates, and coordinate lien waivers/releases.

Job Costing & Financial Tracking

  • Assist with tracking project costs (labor, materials, overhead) and job billing, including AIA applications or billing via platforms like Procore or Textura.
  • Support collection efforts on outstanding customer/payments.

Financial Recordkeeping & Reporting

  • Maintain AP/AR filing systems and ensure accurate documentation for audits and reporting.
  • Assist with general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and month-end financial support.
  • Provide data for compiling project budgets, financial reports, and cost summaries.

Administrative Support

  • Manage electronic filing systems, expense and mileage reports, petty cash, and payroll-related expense documentation.
  • Provide general office and administrative support, including communication with project teams, filing, and correspondence.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Education & Experience

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred. High school diploma with relevant experience considered.
  • 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably within construction or similar sectors.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
  • Familiarity with construction accounting software (e.g., Foundation, QuickBooks Desktop, AIA billing systems, Procore, Textura) is a plus.

Personal Attributes

  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a fast-paced team in a construction environment.
