We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Associate to join our team and contribute to delivering high-quality financial services.

About the Role

As an Accounts Associate, you will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, supporting client reporting, and supervising junior team members. This position is ideal for someone with strong technical accounting skills who is looking to grow within a professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor accounting trainees, providing guidance and support in daily tasks
• Perform and review day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting entries to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
• Prepare bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Support payroll processing and ensure compliance with Australian regulations
• Monitor and improve internal accounting processes and procedures
• Assist with audits, BAS preparation, tax filings, and other statutory compliance requirements
• Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and management regarding financial matters
• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and improve financial reporting processes

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1-2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably within an accounting firm
• Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and compliance requirements
• Experience with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar platforms
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment
